2024 WRAPPED

ION WRAY MEDIA: A Year of Dynamic Growth and Impact in 2024

As we reflect on 2024, we are excited to share the diverse and impactful work that ION WRAY MEDIA has undertaken. This year has been marked by significant achievements across multiple domains, from community support to creative ventures.

Grant Writing and Community Support

We are proud to have secured nearly a quarter of a million dollars in grants, aimed at supporting local farms and organizations that serve underprivileged and underrepresented communities. One of the key initiatives funded by these grants includes an electric sprinter van dedicated to distributing food to those in need. This endeavor underscores our commitment to fostering positive change and empowerment within our community, helping to bridge gaps and provide essential resources to those who need it most.

Music Production and Distribution

In 2024, we expanded our musical footprint by collaborating with Pascal Rose again, this time on her sophomore album. We’re also working with other emerging artists on new albums and singles, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon! Our services included everything from tracking vocals, drums, bass, and guitar to providing expert sound engineering and developing distribution strategies. We employed sync licensing and targeted social media marketing to maximize the reach and impact of our music projects.

Experimental Filmmaking with Projection Mapping at the 48HR Film Project

Last year, we were thrilled to win Best Use of Character at the 48HR Film Project. This year, we set our sights even higher, aiming to create something that’s never been done before. Our creative vision led to a truly groundbreaking experimental short film, where we pushed the boundaries of traditional filmmaking by incorporating projection mapping. This innovative technique seamlessly blended digital visuals with live-action elements, resulting in an immersive and dynamic storytelling experience.

This bold submission marked a significant leap forward for our team and for the medium itself. Projection mapping, a service we began developing even before the founding of ION WRAY MEDIA, continues to evolve as one of our most exciting creative tools. We’re incredibly proud of this year’s achievement and look forward to returning next year with an even more polished and refined project, further showcasing the limitless potential of this cutting-edge approach to filmmaking.

Screenplay and Sizzle Reel Production

Continuing our tradition of supporting compelling narratives, we contributed more production consulting for the distribution of our Ken Burns-style sizzle reel and screenplay by Cheryl Willis, highlighting the remarkable story of two queer Black women in the tap dancing hall of fame during the 1940s. This project reflects our passion for telling unique and impactful stories through film.

Sync Licensing and Music Catalog

Our commitment to music extends to our catalog of copyright-free music, which gained notable traction through sync licensing opportunities. This included a successful project collaboration with Riley Geare (formerly of Unknown Mortal Orchestra) and Scott Wray, further solidifying our presence in the industry.

Projection Mapping at Clark College Annual Event

We used projection mapping at Clark College for their annual event, constructing 14ft tall structures and utilizing over 25k lumens for projection. Interactive animated characters created by Duck Jar Studios and sound-reactive effects by Matterform that flew off the page and onto the ceiling, creating a dynamic and immersive experience that wowed the audience and brought the event to life.

Launching Social Media for 7 Gates Sanctuary

We had the privilege of launching the social media presence for 7 Gates Sanctuary, one of the first legal psilocybin facilities in Oregon. Our approach blended informative content with engaging visuals to highlight the groundbreaking work being done at the sanctuary. Through strategic content creation and community engagement, we helped establish 7 Gates Sanctuary as a trusted leader in the emerging psilocybin space, setting the stage for future growth and awareness.

Petrichor: A Film About Queer Individuals Navigating Faith

We edited, handled the sound design, and provided music supervision for Petrichor, a powerful film that explores the journey of queer individuals navigating their faith. Through thoughtful editing and a nuanced soundscape, we helped bring this poignant story to life, amplifying its emotional depth. Our work on the music supervision ensured the soundtrack perfectly complemented the film’s themes, resonating deeply with audiences and enhancing the overall experience.

At ION WRAY MEDIA, we are dedicated to pushing creative boundaries and making a meaningful impact. We look forward to continuing our journey of innovation and excellence in the coming years.
