SAN FRANCISCO (October 21, 2020) – Bay Area singer-songwriter Zoe Sameth has released a timely music video featuring her song “Whose Great America?” which addresses today’s hot political issues and puts out a call to vote. The song is a powerful statement on the current tumultuous socio-political climate with a unifying message for people to come together and implement change towards an American Dream that is truly inclusive.
Sameth left her California home during the August 2020 wildfires seeking temporary shelter and collaborators to carry out her vision of “Whose Great America?” prior to the November elections. She arrived in Portland, finding herself again surrounded by smoke and fires. Despite setbacks, Zoe found an incredible team of musicians and recorded her song during a socially distanced recording session.
The video features a live taping of Sameth and collaborating musicians at The Hallowed Halls recording studio in Portland. With archival footage looking back at American civil rights, we bring forward the message of the song… We can cross a great divide and come together in compassionate action and celebration.
“The individuals involved in the making of the video came together the way we have to come together as a nation. Out of urgency and love for our humanity, we want to provide inspiration for people to vote and continue to fight for human rights and civil liberties for our country,” says Sameth.
